This week's Scripture of the Week is short and simple: Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I wrote a fun little tune to this one that can be done in a 4-part round. My kids really enjoyed this one and I think you will as well!
Does anyone out there know how I can track how many times something is being downloaded from my site? I have no way of tracking that and I'm just curious. Thanks! Steve

One day, in my imaginary future, I'll have time to sit down and upload all the songs that I have that I haven't been able to upload yet. I think in total, I have 87 songs written, but probably less than half of that on this site. Also in my "one day," I want to upload some of the hymn arrangements I've done for choir over the years. I can't seem to get anyone to publish them, so maybe I'll just put them out there myself. One day...
We're down to 29 days until the big move. Things are getting real! I may be offline for a week or two during that time, but I'll get back on the site as soon as physically possible. Not that I have many loyal followers to disappoint, but I'll do it anyway. Any-who...I've updated the Scripture of the Week. We're in the Doctrine and Covenants this week: D&C 76:22-24. This is Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon's testimony of Christ. As always, please share with your friends and neighbors and come back each week for a new scripture. And comment on here or on the Facebook page and let me know what you think. Cheers! Getting ready to move has really put a damper on things on my end. It's been difficult to make it to the computer to compose or upload new music. I failed to upload last week's scripture of the week: Joseph Smith History 1:17 - the First Vision. I just got it uploaded today.
Our house went on the market yesterday, but I still have more to fix on my house. Even so, I had time to write a new song for this week's Scripture of the Week. This week, we're back in the Book of Mormon and learning 2 Nephi 2:27. This was a fun one to write because the verse is split quite nicely into good and evil which gave me the opportunity to switch from major to minor. We just started it this morning and the kids seemed to like it. If you are unfamiliar with the Book of Mormon, visit Mormon.org, LDS.org, or just contact me with more questions. Happy Scripture Singing! Sorry I didn't update the Scripture of the Week last week. We were reviewing a scripture we've done before (The Ten Commandments) and with trying to get my house ready to put on the market to sell, I just never got around to publishing it last week. Sorry again.
However, that being said, we have a new Scripture of the Week for this week. We're working on Moroni 10:32. This scripture says come unto Christ, deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and his grace is sufficient to make us perfect. I hope you will take the time to look at this scripture this week. Again, if you have a moment, please let me know what you think of the songs! And like us on Facebook! Cheers! Helping to anticipate the new change in the Church's seminary program away from Scripture Mastery to Doctrine Mastery, we're studying John 7:17 this week as our Scripture of the Week.
Please drop me a line after you have downloaded some of these songs and let me know what you think. Thanks! I now have 35 songs uploaded on the site. They are, of course, still free to download. I still have 45 other songs that I haven't uploaded yet. I'll post them as I can, but I'm also in the midst of preparing to move across the country, so my time is a little sparse at the moment.
I'd love to get some feedback. I can see that some people are visiting the site, so if you have downloaded and used any of the songs, I'd love to hear from you. Cheers! By completing this new song for the week, I now have officially done 80 Scripture Songs. I don't have nearly all of them uploaded, so you have plenty to look forward to. Anyway, our Scripture of the Week is Alma 37:6 from the Book of Mormon. I recorded myself singing this one and put it on the page as well. Ooo...something new! Enjoy!
Happy Tuesday! Our scripture of the week comes from the Old Testament this week: Malachi 3:8. "Will a man rob God? Yet, ye have robbed me. But ye say, wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings." This one was one of my early scripture songs. I later wrote a song for Malachi 3:10 that fits on to the end of 3:8. One day, I need to go back and do 3:9, but that day is not today. Anyway, download and learn the Scripture of the Week. And take a moment to learn Malachi 3:10 as well. You won't be sorry!
Please leave me a note in the comments section and let me know how it went! I have successfully uploaded 16 songs to the site (most of them in Book of Mormon right now).
I hope you find these helpful in your own study! I am in the process of uploading several songs today. I have songs uploaded in all categories except D&C and Other. Those will come, not to worry.
If you are downloading these songs, I don't really have a way to track that at the moment. I would just like you to contact me (link in the menu) and just let me know your thoughts and experiences with these songs. Cheers! |
